Welcome to the Relaunch of my Blog/Newsletter and thank you for subscribing and staying with me.  

 

The big news for the end of June is Episode 8 "Twisted Irony” was just released, and you can grab the eBook Free today and tomorrow (June 26 & 27). The Audiobook will be available in a few weeks.

 

Hopefully you’ve kept up on the first 7  Episodes. 

Episode 8 of the ten-part series has, as the title suggests, some surprising Twists and Tragedies. A lot has happened during the two-month timeline of the series since Ron Farmer had a surprising encounter with escaped convicts, a family of four and an axe or two. That encounter was the genesis for everything to come – wait there’s more. There might be a secret army, a ghost, even a pig farm, and the books and Audiobooks tell a story that have been said to be  “… a unique blend of absurdity and suspense,”  and "​Humorously macabre."

All Audiobooks are available on Amazon and at most Audiobook retailers.  

If you like Podcasts, the Farmerville series is being featured on the Chilling Tales for DarkNights YouTube Channel, hosted by Paul J. McSorley. The first episode was aired on Wednesday June 5^th and the next episode will air on Wednesday July 10^th.

I’m planning on releasing the final two Episodes in the next few months.

Catching Up

 Dear Friends,

 Welcome to the Relaunch of the Blog/Newsletter. Thank you for staying with me and if you are new, thank you for Joining the email list.

 

I’ll admit to my tardiness with the blog and have a lot of catching up to do. Here’s a brief review.

My current project has been the Farmerville Series that I started in September last year and is a blend of Mystery, Thriller, Suspense, and Psychological elements in what one reviewer has stated

   “… a unique blend of absurdity and suspense.”  

Another reviewer said “Farmville Unpredictably Chaotic!”  The first seven episodes have been released and the final three episodes will be available in the upcoming months totaling ten episodes.

I’ve also dabbled into the world of Audiobooks and have the entire series in Audiobooks, brilliantly narrated by Paul J. McSorley. If you have not yet started the series, email me (warrenmartin1956@gmail.com) and I’ll send you the first eBook episode, and if you are into audiobooks, let me know the audio platform you use and I’ll send you the first audiobook.

 

For those of you who already know me, you know that I am one of those over-the-top grandparents, so much over the top that I have a Children’s book series I started in 2020 about my times with the grandkids called “Adventures with Pop Pop.” We currently have four books and are working on the next one.

 

As if I didn't have enough to do, I also have my first book from 2012, a historical fiction, “Forgotten Soldiers: What Happened to Jacob Walden” and just published my leadership dissertation, “LEADERSHIP: Outdated Theories and Emerging Non-Traditional Leadership.”  Both of these books are also available in audiobook, and if like to listen to a British Accent, both of these were wonderfully narrated by award winning narrator Graham Mack.

 

Wait, there's more! Many of you know I had a stroke two years ago and that experience encouraged me to work on another project about the stroke experience and rehabilitation. Anticipate completing this by end of this year.

WELCOME BACK BLOG

   The blog has been on hiatus for the past year do to some distractions. As many of you know, one of the distractions was a stroke that I had last March 2022. Recovery and rehab has been going good and have been getting back on track with projects.

One of the projects is we just released two audio books. One is the audio book of “Adventureswith Pop Pop at Grants Farm.” The other one is the children's book my wife Debbie published “Petunia Prima Ballerina.” The links below to the audio books have some sort of promotional discounts for subscribers to audible.

Children's Books During COVID-19

 "Time To Develop More Material" 

Marketing and selling books, including Children’s Books, during the COVID social distancing period has been difficult, and from comments I’ve heard from Authors the consensus is that they agree. While the ability to sell books may be stifled, there has also been opportunity to develop material for future books. In our case COVID-19 evolved into practicing social distancing, and by our case, I’m talking about myself and the Grandmen. Grandmen is what I call my two grandsons, and is also the base for the “Adventures with Pop Pop” children’s book series I recently started. The first book was “Grandman DeanGoes Big Shopping” and there is also a companion Coloring Book that goes with it.

During COVID I would take the Grandmen on Adventures to various county and state parks, away from everyone, and take them on walks. This experience accomplished several things, one of course was Social Distancing, while also providing the boys outdoor activities searching for Dinosaurs, Fossils, and whatever we could find.  The end result relating to books is the adventures provided material for future books.

In the meantime, our second book in nearing completion and is about Grandman Dean’s Preschool Adventures, and this is where Little Brother Grandman Levi will be introduced.

My Books Hidden Messages

When it comes to movies and television series, the below list all have at least one thing in common, that being some sort of Plot Twist or something that was a surprise and not expected. Their genres may not be the same, however the writers presented a story that provided entertainment coupled with an unexpected answer or event within the stories that in some manner gave us a sense of closure, justice, revenge, or just a sense of relief for one of the characters.

In my books “Forgotten Soldiers” and “Till the Cows Come Home,” plus book projects in progress, my intent is to provide similar plot twist, surprise, and unexpected outcomes that provide the reader with a sort of satisfaction with the stories ending. Another intent is to insert in a subtle manner identifying a hidden message that draws attention to an injustice within our society, injustices that

anger us and should not be ignored.

My intention is to entertain while drawing attention to either issues or events we should not forget, and social justice issues that should not be ignored due to political and social correctness.

Till The Cows Come Home Release October 26

Just in time for Halloween

Just another Happy Halloween Short Story, without the ghouls or goblins but disturbing to say the least.

The first installment in the Farmerville Series begins with Ron Farmer, a four-year veteran of the rural Hobbs County Sheriff’s Department. Ron had a rather normal life without much excitement, a sharp contrast from when he was a Green Beret deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. The traditional Halloween festivities are no match for what was set in motion when Ron made a traffic on the Friday of Halloween eve. No ghouls or goblins in this story, but the events that transpire involving two escaped convicts, a family of four, two migrant workers, Ron and his daughter Laura, are far more disturbing, sinister, terrifying, and real, than any ghouls and goblins story.
